The LAB Jumpstart is a new component of the Science Outreach Program that will utilize the Science Outreach and Education Laboratory for student and teacher training. The LAB Jumpstart is designed to provide high school students from disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to conduct hands-on research under the mentorship of leading scientific researchers at one of the world's premier biomedical research facilities. We are looking for motivated, inquisitive, and high-achieving students to join our program.
The LAB Jumpstart will accept a total of 12 students for 2019. The program will run for 14 weeks, running from March 5, 2019 through June 20, 2019. Students will meet every Tuesday/Thursday from 4:00pm-7:00pm.
The application deadline is December 21, 2018. Upon successfully completing The LAB Jumpstart, students will be admitted into the Summer Science Research Program (SSRP), which is a 7 week program, full- time (9am-5pm) program, running from June 24, 2019 and ending August 8, 2019. Students are required to attend all courses and participate in all activities.
